The “Disney-fying Hospitals” Approach: Seamless, Reassuring, and Human Healthcare Journeys

November 13, 2025

At the HETT Show in London recently, I joined an expert panel that explored a vital question: “Innovation vs Implementation: Is Digital Tech Actually Helping Our Workforce?”

The discussion reinforced a crucial insight: meaningful innovation in healthcare is not just about introducing new technology, it’s about designing experiences that work seamlessly for both staff and patients. One powerful idea that emerged was the concept of “Disney-fying” hospitals.

This doesn’t mean adding entertainment. It’s about bringing entertainment’s mastery of experience design, orchestration, and anticipation into healthcare, creating journeys that feel seamless, reassuring, and deeply human. Hospitals where information flows effortlessly, patients feel guided and valued, and technology quietly supports every step of care.

Designing Healthcare Around Human Journeys

Imagine a hospital where a single application orchestrates the entire patient journey from check-in to recovery, showing where to go, what comes next, and what to expect. Patients could ask questions about procedures or risks and receive context-aware, validated answers delivered in a tone and style that match their preferences. They would have access to trusted and personalized information about their condition and treatment options, empowering them to make decisions with confidence and peace of mind.

For clinicians, the benefits are equally transformative. Intelligent systems could optimize schedules in real time, prioritizing urgent cases without overwhelming teams. Dashboards could integrate a patient’s medical background with recent diagnostics, suggesting next-best actions and potential tests. Digital assistants could anticipate risks, automate procedural checks, and surface critical alerts before an issue escalates.

By embedding intelligence into workflows, friction is removed and clinicians can focus on what technology cannot replace: human judgment, empathy, and care. When technology aligns with human processes, hospitals become safer, more efficient, and less stressful for everyone involved.

Cross-Industry Learning and AI as the Enabler

We can draw inspiration from industries that have already mastered experience design. For example, Globant’s work with computer vision for ride safety offers a relevant parallel. Reimagined for healthcare, this same capability could accelerate hospital response times by intelligently monitoring patient areas and detecting anomalies or signs of distress.

In the same way, the logic behind using visitor history to recommend attractions in a theme park can translate into personalized patient guidance. By tailoring information to a patient’s specific pathology, hospitals can help individuals understand their condition, navigate treatment options, and make informed decisions that support faster recovery and a better quality of life.

From Technology to Transformation

That’s the essence of ‘Disney-fying’ healthcare: designing healthcare around empathy, clarity, and connection for both patients and professionals.

Patients move through their care with greater confidence, access information in intuitive and trustworthy ways, and take a more active role in their recovery. Clinicians gain intelligent decision support, streamlined workflows, and unified patient data. The result is a system that functions elegantly, human-centered, data-driven, and sustainably efficient.

At Globant, we are already applying these principles by combining AI, data engineering, and experience design to help health organizations reimagine care journeys from the ground up. This is not about technology replacing people; it is about amplifying human capability, so every healthcare interaction feels seamless, reassuring, and genuinely human.
