December 7, 2023

“With the speed of change, keeping an open conversation is so important. We want to ensure that we adopt technology into our lives in an intuitive, sustainable, and creative way.”

-Martín Migoya, CEO and Co-Founder of Globant

A crucial challenge in the tech world today is finding the right balance between fast-moving technological progress and integrating these advances thoughtfully to enhance customer experience.

Central to this rapid technological evolution is artificial intelligence (AI), which stands as the driving force behind these transformative changes. Today, we are truly in the middle of an AI revolution, and at Converge, we heard tech visionaries and disruptive leaders share how they use AI to empower industries and human development.

Over 40,000 people worldwide registered for our November 30th event, listening to speakers like Mark Benioff, Chair and CEO of Salesforce, Walter Isaacson, best-selling author and acclaimed historian, and Gillian Zucker, President of Business Operations at the LA Clippers, among others, discuss the innovative ways they are using AI to improve customer experience.

Below, we discuss some highlights from this year’s inspiring conversations.

AI innovation meets philanthropy

Benioff joined Migoya in a fascinating conversation to discuss Salesforce’s evolution, AI integration, and commitment to philanthropy through their 1-1-1 model. They explore AI’s potential and ethical aspects, with Benioff emphasizing responsible development and Migoya highlighting the importance of globally impactful initiatives.

Tech-driven customer experiences

Gillian Zucker joined Jane Lauder, Chief Data Officer at Estée Lauder to discuss trends in sports and beauty, focusing on using technology for enhanced customer experiences and sustainability. Both underlined the importance of data, AI, and understanding market competition for customer loyalty and industry relevance.

Fusing art, science, and technology

In his talk with Guibert Englebienne, Co-founder and president of Latam and Globant X, Walter Isaacson discussed the role of disruptors at the art-science intersection and the team-driven nature of innovation. They dive into the moral implications of technologies like AI and social media, advocating for storytelling to make these topics relatable. Isaacson emphasizes the need for a moral compass in technology and humanities. He concludes that risk-taking, curiosity, and creativity are key traits of successful entrepreneurs and future leaders.

A sustainable food revolution

Diego Tartara, Global Chief Technology Officer at Globant, interviewed Matias Muchnick, CEO of NotCo, discussing the company’s start as a sustainable alternative to animal-based foods. Muchnick highlights using AI in product development and the company’s rapid growth. He also touches on future trends in food technology, like alternative proteins and lab-grown meat.
