Fiserv recognized the need to develop new digital products and services at an accelerated pace to stay ahead in a constantly changing market. Challenge
Aware of the importance of an agile approach to achieving their goals, Fiserv sought a reliable and specialized partner in this methodology for software development, scaling their products and services. Initially, there were two challenges:
- The development of a mobile application for real-time sales and cash flow management for Fiserv’s customers, used by Bin, their own acquiring brand (Bin Management App), as well as by azulzinha (azulzinha App), and their strategic alliances (Sicredi Management App and Bancoob Management App).
- A solution for online accreditation for Bin’s acquiring franchisees to register their customers.
After witnessing the initial success and on-time deliveries of these projects, the company took a strategic step by implementing this methodology across its entire Products and Technology division. Agile Transformation
With over 21 years of experience, Globant spearheaded the agile transformation model using Pods. These Squads focused on adopting the methodology, empowering internal teams, and providing highly skilled professionals ready to tackle challenges head-on. Initially, five Pods were formed for different areas, complemented by a shared Pod comprising an Agile Coach, Architect, and UI/UX experts. With ongoing production support, Globant played a role throughout the entire product lifecycle, from conception to final delivery.
Fiserv embarked on a transition journey, training its team and restructuring internal processes. Implementing agile methodologies resulted in shorter project cycles, enabling swift responses to market changes and requirements. This newfound confidence and autonomy empowered Fiserv to operate independently within the agile paradigm, setting an example for other units within the Latin American group.
Fiserv and Globant’s Growing Partnership
Building upon the positive outcomes, the partnership between Fiserv and Globant expanded geographically and encompassed other business units, including Software Express, which Fiserv acquired in Brazil in 2019, and various operations across Latin America. Presently, more than 30 squads are dedicated to special projects, exemplifying the exceptional services offered and reinforcing the strength of the partnership.

Throughout this partnership, several successful projects deserve recognition across Latin America. Here are some notable numbers:
- Fiserv Online is a tool for Bin’s acquiring franchisees to register new customers. It has the potential to reach up to 25,000 accreditations per month.
- The Management App, has reached peaks of up to 5,000 simultaneous accesses.
- Gpag, an app that centralizes all business financial transactions in one application, allowing users to manage all receivables at their fingertips.
- Development of a more modern front-end for FirstVision in Latin America, providing customers with productivity gains in front-office operations for credit cards.
- Development and maintenance of APIs for prepaid products of one of the major convenience store chains in Mexico, processing an average of 2 billion transactions annually.
- Production and support for a new European version of the Merchant Portal, serving Brazil and North Latin America.
- Development of a basic Mobile Banking application that will be offered complementary to SignatureCore through Globant’s US branch.
In some of the listed projects, Globant quickly assembled a team of experts to enable product development and met specific client requirements in less than 60 days.
