Globant has proudly joined the Romanian Diversity Charter, another step towards building a culture of empowerment and belonging. The Romanian Diversity Charter follows the successful models existing in other European countries and is based on a set of general principles voluntarily assumed by the signatory to promote diversity, non-discrimination, inclusion, and equal opportunities in the workplace.
At Globant, we believe in the power of diversity, equity, and inclusion, to generate equal opportunities and pave the way for people to unleash their fullest potential while driving innovation in an industry that is reinventing itself and its solutions constantly.
It is a foundational aspect of Globant’s culture and DNA, and our company-wide strategy genuinely believes in this strength that DE&I harnesses for people and organizations. Being part of the Romanian Diversity Charter is another step forward in continuing to learn how to redefine our biases, mindsets, approaches, and initiatives, building value inside and outside Globant.
Aligning with our values
We are:
- A purpose-driven company.
- Aiming for a positive impact on the communities where we operate.
- Striving to be the best at what we do.
We believe in a culture of empowerment and belonging, where everyone can develop their full potential. A world where everyone has equal opportunities and aworld where we all thrive in creativity and innovation, but with strong roots that preserve the multicultural values of its members. With this in mind, we launched Be kind, our long-term sustainability framework.
DE&I growth in Europe
In Europe, our DE&I strategy is to work on bringing awareness and visibility of the incredible diversity of our people and to further commit to an effort to champion inclusion. We hope to do this with Inclusion Journey Workshops for our leaders, introducing DE&I and our initiatives to new hires from day one in their onboarding, and building networks to support our four pillars: Sexuality & Gender; Race, Ethnicity & Culture; Accessibility and Social & Economic background.
In Romania specifically, we aim to build a Women’s network, promote the inclusion of people with disabilities, and introduce more locally relevant initiatives.
“We are excited to join Carta Diversitatii because it is a way to share our values with the community. We believe the better our Glober can be themselves in the working environment, the better we serve our clients. We are confident that signing the Charter will allow us to accomplish our Strategic Sustainability Goals. We know that diverse talent is the best way we can help organizations transform sustainably. Disability, individual preferences, or socio-cultural background is not an obstacle for talented people to be part of and succeed in our organization. We look forward to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in Romania and the region, by collaborating with other organizations and institutions.” Mercedes Mac Pherson, Chief People Officer EMEA at Globant
