Cloud, AI, and Automation: The Future of JD Edwards Explored at INFOCUS 2024

October 30, 2024

At INFOCUS 2024, the largest JD Edwards conference of the year, Oracle leaders, customers, and transformation partners delved into the topics that matter most when it comes to JD Edwards: Release 24 & 25, Orchestrator, no code/low code automation, and JD Edwards on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), just to name a few. Here, we recap the highlights from this event and share best practices from our Oracle Studio experts to help your organization make the most of JD Edwards’ current capabilities and future enhancements.

1. Taking automation to the next level with EnterpriseOne Orchestrator.

Many sessions at this year’s INFOCUS event explored how EnterpriseOne Orchestrator—a tool that enabling organizations to collect, filter, analyze, and act on real-time data—opens  the door to “extreme automation”.

This low-code/no-code solution enables users to create, test, and deploy orchestrations to tackle inefficiencies caused by manual processes. For instance, it simplifies tasks like integrating third-party systems with JD Edwards, automating order creation within JDE, and using Orchestrator to send purchase orders for approval after creation and revision.

Orchestrator is an important feature that organizations can leverage to improve operational efficiency and free up resources for strategic initiatives. We are working with many clients in this area to help them streamline and connect different workflows and systems to increase productivity, optimize resources, and create more value for the business.

 2. Enhancing decision-making with AI and advanced analytics.

AI is widely recognized as a transformative power for businesses—but many organizations are having difficulty turning the promise of this technology into a practical reality. Several sessions and exhibitors at INFOCUS highlighted how companies can integrate AI and advanced analytics within JD Edwards to unlock use cases that will enhance decision-making and boost operational efficiency.

For example, organizations can use AI to automate the sales order entry process by effortlessly processing structured data. This technology can also enhance the existing process by identifying opportunities for cross-and upselling or identifying out-of-stock items. AI can even be leveraged to train new users or guide them through tasks in JDE, providing reminders about key processes and functionality.

Integrating AI and advanced analytics within JD Edwards helps organizations analyze historical data, identify trends, and provide real-time insights, enabling them to predict outcomes, uncover patterns, and make data-driven decisions. By augmenting the data analysis capabilities of human workers, once overwhelming data volumes can become the company’s most important asset, equipping people with actionable insights that can help them optimize operations.

3. Embracing cloud innovation with the right migration strategy.

Finally, INFOCUS underscored the critical role that cloud migration and OCI have in enabling automation and AI-enabled use cases.

At Globant, we couldn’t agree more: The cloud is an essential part of every transformation strategy. It provides the enhanced scalability, performance, and security companies need to capitalize on AI, automation, and other emerging technologies.
