Last December 18, Globant Tower hosted an exclusive edition of the BPM Forum, bringing together leaders, practitioners, and technology experts to explore how AI Process Agents, Process Mining, and Machine Learning are redefining the way organizations design, execute, and optimize their operations.
Under the theme “Agentes, Process Mining, ML y la Nueva Era de la Optimización con IA”, the session aimed to address a critical question many organizations face today: how do we transition from process visibility to intelligent, autonomous optimization at scale?
From process discovery to predictive intelligence
The conversation began with a deep dive into the convergence of Process Mining and Machine Learning, led by Rocío Ponce, Process Optimization Tech Director and Process Mining & BTP Practice Lead at Globant. Rocío, who also heads the Process Mining & BTP practice, explained how organizations are leveraging data-driven insights not only to understand process cycle times, but also to predict future outcomes and proactively optimize their operations.
Two real-world use cases brought these concepts to life:
- A pharmaceutical manufacturing plant, where machine learning models were used to predict cycle times by production line and determine when each order would be ready.
- A hospital operating room, applying forecasting models to anticipate surgical demand and optimize operating room utilization.
These examples highlighted a clear shift: process optimization is no longer retrospective; it is predictive and prescriptive.
AI Process Agents: intelligence embedded in operations
Building on this foundation, Sebastián Vito, Process Optimization & ServiceNow Tech Director at Globant, explored the role of AI Process Agents in complex, automated environments. His session focused on how agentic models can reason, decide, and act across interconnected processes, enabling organizations to move beyond traditional automation toward adaptive, intelligent workflows.
Through concrete application scenarios, Sebastián demonstrated how agentic AI is becoming a key enabler for handling complexity, orchestrating decisions, and accelerating outcomes in dynamic operational landscapes.
Seeing it in action: AI Agents + Process Mining
One of the most compelling moments of the event was the live demo, presented by Rikzon Rodriguez, Head of Navigate at Globant, where AI Agents and Process Mining were combined in real-time. The demonstration showed how insights extracted from process data can directly inform agent behavior, closing the loop between discovery, decision-making, and execution.
This live experience reinforced a central message of the forum: intelligence delivers real value when it is embedded directly into the operational flow.
The future of AI-powered process automation
The session closed with a strategic perspective from Martín Szenig, VP of Technology and Studio Partner for Process Optimization, ServiceNow & Microsoft Studios at Globant. Martín shared key learnings from ongoing transformations and outlined emerging trends shaping the future of AI Process Automation, from impact measurement and organizational readiness to the evolution of agent-based operating models.
His reflections emphasized that the next frontier of process optimization will be defined by scalable intelligence, continuous learning, and measurable business impact.
