Globant Will Have Four Official Locations For The 2019 Global Game Jam. Find Out About Them!

For the fourth year in a row, Globant will host the Global Game Jam (GGJ).
The GGJ is the biggest annual games creation event around the world. The event invites to participate and contribute to the game industry’s global expansion in evolution, creativity and ingenuity fields. Throughout the weekend, the event awakens the guests’ creative instinct, exploring the development process in programming, iterative design, narrative recognition or artistic expression applied to the video games world.
In January 2019, the Globant sites located in Mar de Plata, Bahía Blanca and Buenos Aires, in Argentina, and Montevideo, in Uruguay, will host the most important gaming event worldwide. On January 25, 26 and 27, hundreds of people from different cities will face the creating games challenge based on the same theme. The main objective is to motivate the contestants in order to explore the new technological tools, taking new roles, showing their abilities to design something innovative, creating and testing a new game only in 48 hours. The event concludes on sunday afternoon with the final projects presentation.
Last year, the GGJ located around 803 locations in 108 countries, creating more than 8,606 games over the weekend. Some Globers attended the Global Games Jam 2018. For example, Andrés Álvarez said: “The event was so funny and very well organized. Every year is better. There are more people, more raffles and more finished games! In addition, this year I spent part of my time helping other groups to finish their projects.  This was a lot of fun and I was able to finish my game on time! “Like him, Globant expects all community support from different sites.
The disciplines that will be evaluated during the next GGJ version are: Game design, Music and sound, Programming, Production, 2D Art, 3D Art and Animation. Regardless of the level of knowledge (high, medium, low), anyone and even the Globers can participate in the event.
