Reflecting on Our Community Impact in 2024

At Globant, our motto, Technology That Dares to Delight, represents more than creating human-centric products for our clients. This philosophy extends beyond our customers to include the broader technology community and the world. We aim to foster a lasting, positive impact through our innovative tools and initiatives, enriching lives while contributing to societal progress.

As we close out 2024, we celebrate our volunteer’s remarkable efforts—the driving force behind the initiatives that have made a difference in communities. From empowering underrepresented groups through education to volunteering to address pressing societal needs, here is an overview of how Globant’s Be Kind programs have inspired change and left a lasting mark this year.

Globanteers numbers 1

Globanteers: Volunteerism in Action

The Globanteers program embodies our commitment to giving back. This corporate volunteer initiative empowers Globers to use their skills and knowledge to impact local and global communities positively.

Throughout 2024, +2300 Globanteers donated almost 50,000 plus hours and collaborated to support educational initiatives, especially in technology, impacting 110,000 plus people around the world. By sharing expertise in coding, data analysis, AI, and digital tools, our volunteers have made technical education more accessible, enabling individuals to thrive in the tech-driven world.

Code Your Future: Unlocking Opportunities Through Education

Inclusivity and access to education are at the core of our Code Your Future program. This year, we expanded our efforts to equip communities with essential tech skills. During 2024, we provided 2,270 Code Your Future scholarships in technology aimed at generating employment opportunities for participants. In addition, we positively impacted 6,300 people from allied educational institutions in each country through hands-on workshops, tech and inspirational talks, and comprehensive training.

By empowering individuals with the tools to excel in technology-related careers, we’re not only creating pathways for employment but also driving diversity and inclusion in the tech industry. Initiatives like “Becas Code Your Future by Globant University,” which provided 900 plus scholarships on Java and Quality Control + Automation in Latam, or the renewal of our partnership with NPower, through which we will be supporting the SkillBridge Cybersecurity program—a collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense aimed at facilitating seamless transitions for active-duty military personnel into civilian life through a free cyber workforce development program. Besides we partnered with Río Software and the Centro de Innovación del Pacífico in Colombia to launch “Code Your Future: Construye Paz” Chocó. This bootcamp aimed to provide a bootcamp in Javascript + React to the local community in Chocó, one of the Colombian regions most impacted by the armed conflict in the country.

The Inspire Garage: Sparking Interest in STEAM for the Next Generation

Inspiring the next generation to explore the wonders of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) is vital for a sustainable future.

Through The Inspire Garage, we offered engaging experiences this year to students aged 12 to 17. These sessions introduced topics like programming, video games, design, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and the metaverse in an interactive and approachable way. Over 6.000 students have discovered the exciting potential of STEAM fields since 2021, sparking their curiosity and helping them envision a career in technology.

The Minecraft 2024 Inter-Schools competition brought together students from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Peru to showcase their creativity within the Minecraft universe. This unique challenge engaged 200 students aged 12 to 15, tasking them with recreating sports facilities from the Paris Olympic Games in Minecraft. Nearly 60 Globant volunteers guided the teams through the construction and exhibition phases, providing invaluable support. Ultimately, a team from Bogotá, Colombia, won the international victory.

Like every year, we joined forces with the NGO Club de Chicas Programadoras, bringing free mentoring focused on programming to girls between 12 and 17 years old. During 2024, we opened ten on-site clubs in our offices located in Buenos Aires, Tandil, Córdoba, Montevideo, Santiago de Chile, Madrid, Bogotá, Medellín, and Lima, in which almost 170 teenage girls participated, guided during the 3 months of mentoring by 59 Globant volunteers.

For the third consecutive year, we collaborated with Robotex India, a non-profit promoting STEAM, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and IoT in Government Schools in urban, tribal, and rural areas. Through this program, specialized teachers provided robotics kits and courses in four schools in Maharastra, India, impacting over 3000 students ages 7-14 between 2022 and 2025.

Globant Labs: Innovation for Social Good

At Globant Labs, we transform our technological expertise into solutions for social challenges.
We work hand in hand with nonprofit organizations to co-create tools that generate a positive impact on their missions. In 2024, we collaborated on more than 25 projects with different organizations across 15 countries, with the voluntary dedication of nearly 400 employees, who contributed close to 35,000 hours of their time to this purpose.

Highlights of 2024

This year, we launched four digital solutions to help these organizations enhance their impact:

  • Guía de Campo de Aves Argentinas: In less than six months, it reached over 14,000 downloads, providing information about 1,041 bird species to thousands of users.
  • MyFootprint: For the fourth consecutive year, we released an improved version of this app that measures Globant’s environmental impact.
  • Te Protejo: We developed a tool for this initiative by Red PaPaz, which focuses on protecting children in Colombia.
  • Diversiland: We are ready to launch the educational portal for It Gets Better Argentina, which aims to promote gender diversity and equal opportunities through education and information.

Supporting initiatives and communities

In addition to our digital solutions, we provided key services to organizations to enhance their initiatives:

  • Tech to the Rescue: We supported their AI for Changemakers initiative with webinars and boot camps.
  • 3xi in Chile: We conducted a strategic analysis that allowed them to advance a project focused on helping homeless individuals.
  • Field tests:
    • We evaluated a tool for diagnosing malnutrition in the Wichí community in Salta, Argentina.
    • We tested an app to improve reading fluency in children aged 8 to 11 in a school, laying the groundwork for future developments.

Results that keep growing

Previous launches from Globant Labs continue to generate significant impact. To name a few examples:

  • Proyecto Dale: Our app for learning to read and write has reached 47,200 downloads.
  • Emocionalmente: It is close to reaching 10,000 downloads.
  • AutismoRed already has more than 7,000 registered users, strengthening its community.

At Globant Labs, we remain convinced that technology can be a driving force for social change and the well-being of communities.

#All4 Campaigns: Fostering Solidarity

Beyond technology, Globant also champions humanitarian causes through donation campaigns. A vital example of this commitment is our All4 campaigns, a reactive initiative launched in response to climatic or humanitarian emergencies connected to Globant’s operations.

By aligning our resources and efforts with urgent global needs, our All4 campaigns embody our dedication to making a real difference in times of crisis, reinforcing our belief in the transformative power of collective action.

In response to the recent DANA storm in Spain, Globant remained committed to supporting those affected through various initiatives under the #All4Spain campaign. Globers across Spain contributed donations and essential supplies such as food, baby products, and hygiene items, which were collected at our offices and delivered to Fundación Madrina. Additionally, we launched a fundraising campaign where Globant matched all donations made by employees, doubling our impact to help communities in Valencia, Castilla-La Mancha, and Andalucía. Every contribution played a vital role in providing much-needed relief for those affected.

In response to the devastating forest fires that struck Chile in January and February 2024, a donation campaign called All4Chile was organized. Globers from Chile were invited to contribute through monetary donations to the Desafío Levantemos Chile Foundation, aiming to raise funds to purchase and distribute essential supply kits and debris cleanup in the affected areas. Globant matched the contributions made by Globers, amplifying the impact of their generosity.

Among these efforts, Globant has also carried out campaigns like Back To School, Globanteers Giving Back, and Children’s Day.

From fundraising for disaster relief hardware donations to partnering with nonprofits addressing climate change, half of Globers have participated in these campaigns. These efforts reflect our collective spirit of solidarity and the power of community.

Looking Ahead

At Globant, we believe that technology holds the power to transform lives when used responsibly and creatively. Through programs like Globanteers, Code Your Future, The Inspire Garage, Globant Labs, and our donation campaigns, we’ve seen firsthand how innovation and compassion can work hand in hand to create a better world.

As we enter 2025, we remain committed to expanding our reach, enriching communities, and delivering technology that dares to delight and transform.
