All great things begin with a dream, an idea that finds its place in the world and grows stronger as it’s shared. That’s the case of Code Your Future, one of Globant’s flagship initiatives that started in 2019 and, as of today, has helped more than 14,000 people through scholarships in technology development education programs and trainings for vulnerable groups, providing inclusive spaces and opportunities in the digital sector.
Strategic allies, innovative dynamics and comprehensive experiences are part of this journey to provide technology education and job opportunities. 2024 has been a particularly positive year in expanding the program to empower women, refugees and migrants, military veterans and socioeconomically vulnerable communities. Today, we highlight the effort we made and use it as fuel to continue fostering this project, watching how it expands more and more.
One root, several branches
Code Your Future is expanding beyond Latin America faster than we planned. We’re proud to present our most important initiatives this year:
- Globant University Code Your Future Scholarships (Latin America): More than 700 Latin American students are benefiting from the second edition of the CYF scholarships, where they’re pursuing careers in back-end, quality control and automation.
- Instituto da Oportunidade Social (Brazil): During the second year of this partnership, we supported a class of young adults studying web programming. In addition, Globant volunteers (Globanteers) fostered their growth through contributions such as technical master classes and inspirational talks.
- NPower (USA): For over four years, we’ve collaborated with NPower, one of the largest non-profit organizations in the U.S. that provides free technology training and job placement for military veterans and young adults in under-served communities. Today, we renewed and expanded our partnership for 2 more years, in which Globant will support in training 500 active-duty military service members in cyber-security, creating a smooth transition for them as they move into civilian life.
- Campus 42 (Spain): In October 2024, we launched our partnership with Fundación Telefónica and Campus 42. As part of this collaboration, during 2024 and 2025 Globant will provide scholarships to Campus 42 students in Málaga, as well as internships for Campus 42 graduates in our new office in Madrid. Finally, a team of Globant experts is working on the creation of a web development module that will be accessible to all Campus 42 students in 2025.
- HIAS (Romania): Between 2024 and 2025, we will boost programming training for people with refugee and migrant status in Romania in partnership with HIAS, a global organization working to create a world where refugees are welcome and safe and can access opportunities.
- Tent (Europe and USA): Since 2022, we’ve partnered with Tent, an umbrella organization of more than 300 global companies, to mobilize businesses for refugee inclusion. Since 2023, through the Refugee Women Mentoring Initiative, Globers have mentored more than 100 women in Europe and the United States.
- Generation India (India): In our second year with Generation India, we renewed our commitment to Project AMBER, which seeks to improve employment and retention outcomes for more than 70,000 trainees in 70 districts in India, with 50% female participation. Globant is specifically collaborating to enhance job opportunities for full-stack Java developers and cloud support specialists for over 1,500 students between 2023 and 2026, strengthening our commitment to train and empower the next generation of technology talent in India.
- Fundación Formar (Argentina): Since 2021, more than 100 Globers have collaborated with Fundación Formar, an organization that promotes the labor inclusion of people in vulnerable situations. Globant offers mentoring in soft skills, IT, English and monthly master classes. In 2024, we expanded the impact with two new initiatives: “Labs Academy”, a professional internship where Formar graduates support Globant Labs projects, and “Service Desk Academy”, where graduates receive training in computer assembly and repair at Globant’s offices in Buenos Aires.
- SENA New Generations (Colombia): Since 2017, Globant has been supporting SENA students through the “SENA New Generations” program, with the aim of promoting inclusion and employability in technology. By 2024, more than 100 Globanteers have trained 228 students in key technologies and languages, offering mentoring and knowledge sharing. In addition, more than 611 students have participated in the program since its inception. At the end of their training, students have the opportunity to be hired by Globant. This program strengthens the Colombian digital ecosystem and creates a pool of talent for the country’s technology industry.
- Abriendo Puertas (Mexico): In alliance with Asociación Mexicana de Tecnologías de la Información (AMITI) and Generation México, we created “Abriendo Puertas”, a program that trains 100 young people in Mexico City, 60% of whom are women, with the aim of enabling them to get a job in the country’s digital industry, thus reducing the youth employability gap.
- Agile Methodologies Bootcamp with KISTH (Ecuador): Created together with Instituto Kichwa de Ciencia, Tecnología y Humanidades – KISTH, and its Co-Founder and winner of Women That Build Awards, Janeth Bonilla, this program aimed to train members of the Kichwa indigenous community in Agile Methodologies to provide support and solutions to community problems, using science, technology, innovation and ancestral knowledge as tools. 6 Globant mentors oversaw the training process of 30 indigenous students.
- Polo de Innovación de Canelones (Uruguay): Globant provided computers for a new computer room in the department of Canelones. Alongside local stakeholders, Globant volunteers conducted a series of soft skills workshops and intensive training in Testing for 55 young people.
- Desafío Latam (Chile): We partnered with this organization that trains young people deprived of liberty under our Tech Sin Barreras program, which seeks to provide technology training opportunities to the prison population. Thanks to this perfect match, a young man who had learned full-stack development with the academy during his sentence had the chance to work as an intern at Globant and collaborate on a real project.
