Measure, reduce, compensate… Three simultaneous efforts to reduce carbon footprint

Did you know that Globant is working to transform into an agent of change? Since 2011, when we started measuring our environmental impact, we have been improving the way we measure our carbon footprint and challenging ourselves to become a real Net-Zero emissions company.

Since 2020, we’ve transitioned into operating with 100% renewable electricity resources and by the end of 2021, we became carbon-neutral, and this is just the beginning. Reaching this goal has only motivated us to push harder. In 2022, we will take environmental footprint reduction to the next level.

Communicating performance in sustainability without greenwashing

At COP26, we saw organizations around the world come together to achieve greater outcomes than they could on their own, with countries, policymakers, investors, and NGOs pushing the boundaries for climate action. What is the role communications have in accelerating the transition to a sustainable world? How do we avoid the risk of greenwashing?

Elena Morettini, Director of Globant’s Sustainable Business Studio at Globant, participated in a debate about this relevant topic, organized by COP 26- Goals House and hosted by Dr. Arlo Brady, CEO freuds.

“We play an active role in communicating. We are transmitting what we are doing through technology for sustainability practices, so it is particularly important that we stay involved until the very end of what gets communicated to the public. It’s a beautiful role because it’s science-based, it’s data-driven, and it’s knowledge-based, so you really want to make sure the communication you are sending out there to the wider public is strongly and seriously based on this new concept,” explained Elena Morettini.
