iFactor Contest – Summary of the Entrepreneurial Week

The first Intrapreneurs Globant’s contest is moving. After an arduous screening of the ideas proposed by over 100 registered Globers, the 10 semifinalists teams will advance to the Entrepreneurial Week organized by Globant and the Endeavor Foundation in Buenos Aires.
Globers from Mexico, Colombia, Uruguay, and several sites in Argentina arrived in Buenos Aires where a unique experience awaited them.
From October 19-23, twenty selected Globers participated in an intense week of talks and meetings with experts. Immersed in the entrepreneurial culture, they learned more about Globant and incorporate tools and resources, not only to have his Ifactor project win the final contest, but for the rest of their professional development.

Day 1 – Welcome!
On Monday 19, after a breakfast at the Chill Out of the 9th floor of Laminar they began their courses and workshops.
They dipped into fundamental concepts, theoretical frameworks of entrepreneurial, and successful use cases. Emiliano Kargieman (Founder and CEO at Satellogic) told them how he founded the first company to develop space technology and how they put the first nano-satellite from Argentina into orbit.

Day 2 – Learning How to Think
On the second day, Magali Amalla (Senior Experience Designer at Globant) proposed a user-oriented focus. Through a Design Thinking workshop, she sought to provide participants with tools for generating ideas and a practical methodology to help increase the chances of creating a successful startup.

Day 3 – Canvas Rules
Wednesday was the Canva’s Day, specifically “How to build your own Business Model Canvas.” Topics included where to start and what to consider.
Ex-Glober, Juan Ignacio Onetto, shared his company’s Canvas with participants in order to validate their knowledge, and thus resolve questions about Canvas itself.

Day 4 – Marketing & Finances for Nerds
The third day the football got into the discussion: Monica Moccia (Marketing Manager of Club Atletico Boca Juniors) shared with the Globers what it was like to conduct the digital strategy of greatest Argentinean institution in terms of number of followers on all social networks.
Then PwC experts gave lectures on everything from basic financial concepts to non-financial subjects.

Day 5 – Seducing and Showing
The last day was the most anticipated. How to make our pitch sexy enough, not only for investors and customers, but also for the iFactor Contest jury.
Esther Feldman (elevator pitches expert trainer) shared some of the secrets on how to not fail in those 5 minutes of exposure.
Alfonso Amat, CEO of I AM AT, also shared his invaluable experience.

 

On Friday 23, the first Globant Entrepreneurial Week came to an end with a dynamic designed by People Champions. But the iFactor Contest just took his last push.

Today the teams are in full development with new ideas, preparing for the semifinals Demo Day.
